E. Angelino et al., PLANNING-MODEL FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF AIR-POLLUTION CAUSED BY URBAN TRAFFIC, Science of the total environment, 134(1-3), 1993, pp. 9-19
The following is a support model for urban area planning which allows
the evaluation of the impact of measures taken regarding motor vehicle
traffic on air quality. The model allows assignment of traffic flows
to the road network, calculation of the composite emission factors usi
ng the EEC-approved J-CORINAIR method, determination of both the emiss
ion and dispersion of the primary pollutants and production of graphic
al representations of the results. The results of its application in M
ilan to determine the concentration of carbon monoxide and oxides of n
itrogen caused by urban motor vehicle traffic, have been listed and wi
ll serve as an example of its effectiveness.
