K. Pawlicki et al., INVESTIGATIONS ON CIRCADIAN-RHYTHM OF ZN++ IN RATS LIVER, KIDNEY AND GONADS, Acta Biologica Cracoviensia. Series Zoologia, 33, 1992, pp. 1-10
Most of the biological processes occurring in human and animal organis
ms are of rhythmical nature. The level of metal content in an organism
depends on many factors e.g.: on species, sex, age of the animal and
on diet applied. Zn content was examined with regard to age of the ani
mal (60- and 100-days old rats) and to season (autumn, spring). The re
sults obtained indicate the existence of a 24-hour rhythm of changes i
n Zn content in the liver, kidney and gonad. An analysis of the result
s was carried out concerning: a) the functional interrelations between
organs, b) three different difinitions of metal concentration in orga
nism.
