Abstract
The scattering of acoustic fields by thin-walled elastic cylinders of finite length is investigated. An approximate scattering model based o n the method of successive reflections is used for the calculations an d estimations. The range of geometrical parameters of the shell for th e observation of clearly pronounced forward scattering is determined.
