The instability and tendency to disproportionate of organometallic com
pounds of Group 13 metal-d-metal complexes were countered by adjusting
the donor acceptor properties of the metal centers. Now nothing prese
nts the use of this class of compounds in layering processes or the de
velopment of its chemistry. A large number of alanes, gallanes, and in
danes related to 1 (M = Fe. L = Cp, n = 2) that are volatile without d
ecomposition were prepared.
