The Questionnaire for Measuring Political Considerations in Performanc
e Appraisal (PCPAQ) measures the extent to which distortions in rating
s of job performance are present. In the original test of this questio
nnaire, conducted in a francophone organizational milieu, validity, re
liability and undimensionality were demonstrated (Tziner et al., 1996)
. In the present replication, the psychometric qualities of the PCPAQ
were tested in an anglophone work environment. Additional variables de
monstrated the convergent and discriminant validities of the instrumen
t The results were consistent with the previous findings; the PCPAQ pr
ovides a reliable and valid measure of perceived political considerati
ons affecting the appraisal process.
