The simultaneous appearance of Hodgkin's disease and a non Hodgkin's l
ymphoma is very infrequent and has classically been considered as coin
cidental. Nevertheless, recent clinical observations suggest that neop
lastic cells which lead to Hodgkin's disease are of lymphoid origin. T
he case of a <<discordant>> lymphoma formed by a laterocervical Hodgki
n's disease and a large cell gastric lymphoma is presented. The coexis
tence of these two diseases, as herein presented, supports the lymphoi
d origin of Hodgkin's disease.
