Tkm. Mbela et al., DEVELOPMENT OF POLY (DIALKYL METHYLIDENEMALONATE) NANOPARTICLES AS DRUG CARRIERS, International journal of pharmaceutics, 92(1-3), 1993, pp. 71-79
Two novel dialkylmethylidenemalonate (DAMM) analogs: diallylmethyliden
emalonate (AAMM, 1b) and cyclohexylethylmethylidenemalonate (CEMM, 1c)
were synthesized and evaluated for their capacity to polymerise to st
able nanoparticles and to adsorb primaquine diphosphate (PQ). PQ loadi
ng onto poly-AAMM (PAAMM, 1b) and poly-CEMM (PCEMM, 1c) was up to 90%
in the pH range from 6.0 to 8.5. A significant improvement of the phys
icochemical characteristics and the PQ desorption capacity of the nano
particles was achieved in this series of PDAMM analogs.
