Abstract
Psychoanalytically orientated and psychoanalytic group psychotherapy a re examined as to what they have in common and what sets them apart. A s in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in the individual setting, a con tinuum exists between psychoanalytically orientated and psychoanalytic group psychotherapy. The differences mainly concern the fostering or limiting or regression and the ways of dealing with it.
