Abstract
In order to move samples amongst different ultra-high vacuum (uhv) cha mbers in the laboratory, an apparatus capable of operating a sputter-i on pump for long time in the absence of its mains power supply has bee n designed. It consists of an electronic circuit controlling a high- v oltage module which is fed by batteries.
