P. Gras et al., FUNCTIONAL HEMISPHERIC AROUSAL AND EGOCEN TRIC REFERENCE - AN EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY ON 20 HEALTHY-SUBJECTS, Revue neurologique, 149(5), 1993, pp. 347-350
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of each hemispheri
c functional arousal (right or left) on the designation of a subjectiv
e egocentric reference. The subjective designation of a egocentric ref
erence was measured and compared in 20 right-handers healthy volunteer
s in cognitive tasks concerning either the right or the left hemispher
e. The location of the egocentric reference was different during right
or left hemispheric arousal. The hemispheric arousal induce a displac
ement of the egocentric reference to the contralateral space. These re
sults are compared with clinical and neurophysiological studies and su
ggest new explorations to the mechanisms of heminegligence.
