Abstract
Four recently developed, sensitive techniques (density profiling, comp uted X-ray tomography, modulus profiling and chemiluminescence) have b een used to follow the thermooxidative ageing behavior of a carbon-bla ck-filled EPDM terpolymer. Comparisons between the results obtained fr om the four techniques indicate the existence of a complex ageing beha vior dominated by diffusion-limited oxidation effects.
