Public Support for space activities has waxed and waned over the nearl
y 40 years of the US space program. Almost since the beginning of the
space age, people have questioned the value of the government-funded s
pace program. Dozens of advocacy and educational organizations have be
en founded and millions of dollars have been spent in an attempt to 's
hore-up' support for the program. In this report, Lori Garver, Executi
ve Director of the National Space Society describes the aims and activ
ities of the latest such organization, Mission HOME.
