Abstract
A number of new regular polyesters containing C(ar)-Si-O-Si C(ar) frag ments, i.e., a combination of flexible and rigid Si-C(ar) joints with an ester sequence, were synthesized. The ester sequence reproduces the mesogenic fragment of liquid crystalline (LC) polymers. The synthesiz ed polyesters do not exhibit LC properties, and their structure is par tly crystalline and partly amorphous.
