Abstract
An anomalous sorption of monomers in a Polymer gel matrix, with an ext remumon the weight gain curve of the sample, is described within the f ramework of a model assuming variation of the sorption ability of the matrix during relaxation. For this model, analytical expressions are o btained that describe the effects of sample size and diffusion bath co mposition on the kinetics of the relative sample weight variation. The model was applied to the interpretation of the general features of an omalous sorption of methyl methacrylate in a matrix comprising a parti ally polymerized blend of diallyl isophthalate with maleic anhydride.
