The specific parameters of the synthesis of oligophenylene-, oligonaph
thylene-, and oligcanthracenecarboranes were studied. Molecular mass a
nd viscosity of each oligoarylenecarborane were determined and the wei
ght average and number-average molecular mass distributions were analy
zed using gel permeation chromatography. Fractional extraction was use
d to isolate eight fractions of oligophenylenecarborane and it was sho
wn that they were described by the Mark-Kuhn-Houwink equation with an
exponent of 0.59. For the free rotation model, the Kuhn segment was ev
aluated using the Monte-Carlo computational procedure.
