The conductance of thermolysis products of chromium carbonyl poly(acry
lonitriles) was studied. It was found that after 12-h thermal treatmen
t in air at 220-degrees-C under an applied electric field of 40 - 50 k
V/cm, films prepared from chromium carbonyl poly(acrylonitriles) acqui
re conducting properties. The volume conductivity is the higher, the l
arger the content of chromium in the polymer. At chromium concentratio
ns of 3 - 3.6 wt %, the volume conductivity is 7 - 9 orders of magnitu
de higher than the conductivity of the products of thermolysis of the
initial polymer. The dependence of the volume conductivity of thermoly
sis products of chromium carbonyl poly(acrylonitriles) on the strength
of the external field was measured.
