Abstract
The poly(diphenylsiloxanes) whose phenyl groups were partially substit uted for n-hexyl moieties or contained various substituents in para-po sition were prepared. The flexible alkyl substituents in poly(diphenyl siloxane) chain were shown to change sharply the physicochemical param eters of the polymer. The properties of all the polymers prepared were characteristic of mesomorphic polyorganosiloxanes.
