We report on measurements of the angular correlation between inelastic
ally scattered gamma-rays and the recoiling electrons in 5 mug/cm2 thi
n carbon foils. The coincidence count rate is proportional to the two-
dimensional electron momentum density of the target. The experiment wa
s done with 100 keV synchrotron radiation from the DORIS III storage r
ing at DESY, Hamburg.
