Abstract
Rahnella aquatilis, a rarely encountered member of the family Enteroba cteriaceae, was twice isolated from the blood of a pediatric bone marr ow transplant recipient. This is the first report of a pediatric case of R. aquatilis bacteremia, and it was probably related to inappropria te handling of a Hickman catheter.
