Je. Hoppe et al., CATHETER-RELATED RAHNELLA-AQUATILIS BACTEREMIA IN A PEDIATRIC BONE-MARROW TRANSPLANT RECIPIENT, Journal of clinical microbiology, 31(7), 1993, pp. 1911-1912
Rahnella aquatilis, a rarely encountered member of the family Enteroba
cteriaceae, was twice isolated from the blood of a pediatric bone marr
ow transplant recipient. This is the first report of a pediatric case
of R. aquatilis bacteremia, and it was probably related to inappropria
te handling of a Hickman catheter.
