The release of catecholamines in the slices of rat crown cortex was st
udied by HPLS. Haloperidol dose-dependently increased the K+-provoked
release of endogenous DA, NA and A. The sensitivity of DA receptors wh
ich modulated the release of NA was 35.7 times higher than of those mo
dulating the release of DA. The sensitivity of DA receptors which modu
lated the release of A was 20,000 times higher than of those which mod
ulated the release of DA. At this sensitivity of DA receptors, DA was
calculated to be effective at a distance of about 10 mm and even more.
