Abstract
Measurements of the water absorption coefficient at 193 nm from 300 to 1073 K are reported. The measurements were made using broadband VUV r adiation and a monochromator-based detection system. The water vapor w as generated by a saturator and metered into a flowing, 99 cm absorpti on cell via a water vapor mass flow meter. The 193 nm absorption coeff icient measurements are compared to room temperature and high temperat ure shock tube measurements with good agreement. The absorption can be parameterized by a nu3 vibrational mode reaction coordinate and the t hermal population of the nu3 mode.
