B. Mahdavi et al., THE ELECTROCATALYTIC HYDROGENATION OF PHENANTHRENE AT RANEY-NICKEL ELECTRODES - THE EFFECT OF PERIODIC CURRENT CONTROL, Electrochimica acta, 38(10), 1993, pp. 1377-1380
The electrocatalytic hydrogenation (ECH) of phenanthrene has been inve
stigated under galvanostatic control at Raney nickel electrodes in eth
ylene glycol-water at 80-degrees-C. The influence of square wave curre
nt control on the efficiency of the process determined by the current
efficiency was studied Higher current efficiencies were obtained using
periodic current control compared to steady current control. An optim
um periodic current was determined.
