Vi. Astafjev et al., INFLUENCE OF MICROSTRUCTURE AND NONMETALLIC INCLUSIONS ON SULFIDE STRESS-CORROSION CRACKING IN LOW-ALLOY STEELS, International journal of pressure vessels and piping, 55(2), 1993, pp. 243-250
The resistance of some low-alloy tubular steels to sulphide stress cor
rosion cracking (SSCC) was assessed. The influence of microstructure a
nd non-metallic inclusions on SSCC susceptibility was investigated. Th
ree groups of differently heat-treated low-alloy steels with various m
icrostructure and shape of non-metallic inclusions were used. Threshol
d values sigma(th) and K(ISSC) were determined. To analyse specific mi
crostructural mechanisms of damage accumulation in SSCC processes the
fractographic and metallographic methods were used.
