Abstract
Besides typical gynaecological tumours colorectal neoplasms, Crohn's d isease, dystopic kidneys, mesenteric cysts, tumours of the small bowel , perityphlitic abscesses, retroperitoneal sarcomas, lymphomas of the ileocoecal region and, in aged patients, aneurysmatic lesions of the i liac arteries have to be considered as source of the symptoms. The sys tematic use of various diagnostic procedures is discussed.
