The formation of condensed layers of the fullerene C70 at the air-wate
r interface is reported. It is Shown that thin films Of C70 can be bui
lt-up onto a variety of substrates by the Langmuir-Blodgett process, w
ith deposition ratios of 0.7 +/- 0.1 and overall film thicknesses up t
o 700 angstrom. Preliminary X-ray diffraction results from a mixed C60
:arachidic acid Langmuir-Blodgett film are also presented.
