Abstract
Polycrystalline samples of mixed alkali-metal fullerides, Rb3-xKxC60 ( x = 1, 2), were prepared by the. direct reaction of C60 with alkali me tal vapor. Supercoducting transition temperatures and lattice paramete rs, as determined by magnetic susceptibility and X-ray powder diffract ion, are intermediate to the two endmembers, K3C60 and Rb3C60. Compoun ds appear to be solid solutions that obey Vegard's Law. No indication of size-difference-induced cation ordering on tetrahedral and octahedr al sites is observed.
