Hydrocephalus due to bilateral obstruction of the foramen of Munro in
a 9-year-old girl was diagnosed 4 years after mumps meningoencephaliti
s, and is presented in this case report suggesting a possible associat
ion with late complication of mumps virus, providing further circumsta
ntial evidence of the role mumps virus may play in the pathogenesis of
hydrocephalus.
