Rc. Campos et Ss. Moraes, COBALT DETERMINATION IN BOVINE LIVER BY GFAAS - TESTING 2 ACID DIGESTION PROCEDURES AND DIFFERENT MODIFIERS, Atomic spectroscopy, 14(3), 1993, pp. 71-75
Two acid digestion procedures and several modifiers were tested to det
ermine cobalt in bovine liver by GFAAS. The use of modifiers [Mg(NO3)2
, Pd(NO3)2, and Mg(NO3)2 + Pd(NO3)2] did not contribute to analyticall
y significant enhancements in pyrolysis temperature, but led to an ove
r-compensation error with the D2 background correction. The optimized
procedure with a pyrolysis temperature of 1200-degrees-C, without modi
fier, and a cooldown step before atomization, allowed the calibration
with aqueous analytical solutions. Use of the L'vov platform proved ad
visable. The results of both digestion procedures were in good agreeme
nt with the certified value in the analysis of a standard reference ma
terial.
