Using the two-gluon exchange model of the pomeron, the total and diffe
rential cross-section for production of heavy quark-antiquark pairs (c
cBAR, bbBAR, ttBAR) by double pomeron exchange in high energy proton-p
roton collisions is calculated. The results for production of heavy qu
ark-antiquark pairs are compared with those for production of the Higg
s boson in the same reaction.
