The results of an international interlaboratory method validation stud
y were used to revise method performance specifications associated wit
h USEPA Method 1613 for the analysis of tetra- through octachlorinated
dioxins and furans by high resolution GC/MS. The study used samples p
repared from concentrated extracts to evaluate method performance in w
astewater effluents. The results demonstrate the general applicability
of the method to monitoring the concentrations of these analytes in t
he range from 10 to 1000 pg/L.
