Abstract
The main sources of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDD) and polyc hlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF) in Russian chemical and some other ind ustries are reported. Assessment of the danger caused by dioxins to th e society was delayed in Russia for many years. Several questions stil l remain unanswered.
