Abstract
A new triterpenic acid, gouanic acid has been isolated from the leaves of Gouania microcarpa along with tetratriacontanoic acid. Its structu re was established as 3-oxolup-20(29)-ene-27,28-dioic acid based on sp ectroscopic evidence.
