G. Saada et P. Veyssiere, THE PEAK OF FLOW-STRESS IN THE L1(2)-STRUCTURE AND THE ELIMINATION OFKEAR-WILSDORF LOCKS, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 164(1-2), 1993, pp. 281-285
The conditions that determine the peak of flow stress in L1(2) alloys
are explored in relation to the elimination of the Kear-Wilsdorf (KW)
configurations. Two alternative hypotheses are explored according to w
hether the Kear-Wilsdorf locks are destroyed by transformation and gli
de in the primary octahedral plane or disappear upon activation of ext
ensive cross-slip on the cube plane. It is shown that the consistency
between present predictions and the experimental behaviour of a variet
y of single crystals with L1(2) structure is qualitatively good.
