Vj. Montesinos et al., SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF ADENINE HISTIDINE TERNARY COMPLEXES, Synthesis and reactivity in inorganic and metal-organic chemistry, 23(6), 1993, pp. 937-947
Four novel mixed adenine-L-histidine ternary complexes of Cu(II) and N
i(II) have been synthesized in the solid state by the interaction of M
Cl2.nH2O or M(NO3)2.nH2O with adenine and L-histidine (1:1:1) in triet
hyl orthoformate. The complexes have been characterized by elemental a
nd thermogravimetric analyses, magnetic measurements and infrared /ele
ctronic spectral studies. The carboxylic, the N imidazolic and amino g
roups of the amino acid participate in the bonding and the interaction
of the metal ion with the adenine ring seems to occur through the N(9
) site with additional participation of the N(6)H2
