Abstract
Five new cyclohexylamine and morpholine adducts of oxovanadium(IV) dit hiocarboxylates have been isolated. The compounds have been characteri zed by analytical, magnetochemical, IR and visible-UV spectral methods and are assigned the formula [VO(RCS2)2.B] (B= cyclohexylamine or mor pholine and R = n-pentyl, n-hexyl, iso-octyl, cyclohexyl or phenyl). T he effect of adduct formation on the pi(V=O) bond is discussed in term s of the V=O, V-S and V-N stretching frequencies and d-d transitions.
