New representative pentacoordinate tetraphenylarsoniumamide oxime and
carboxylate derivatives of type Ph4AsL, where L = NR2 = -NCO(CH2)2CO,
-NCOC6H4CO, -NNNC6H4, NCOCOC6H4; OOCR(I) (R(I) = -C6H4NO2-m, C6H4Cl-o)
and and ONCR(II)R(II I) (R(II), R(I II) = Me, Ph; Ph, Ph, and (CH2)5)
have been isolated and characterized by elemental analyses, molar con
ductance, molecular weight determination, infrared and (I)H NMR spectr
al data. A tentative trigonal bipyramidal structure has been proposed
for these derivatives.
