Jb. Dietrich, ANTIBODIES TO A SHORT SYNTHETIC PEPTIDE OF THE PEST REGION CROSS-REACT WITH MAMMALIAN TYROSINE AMINOTRANSFERASE, Cellular and molecular biology, 39(1), 1993, pp. 125-129
The immunoreactivity of the PEST region of mammalian tyrosine aminotra
nsferase (TATase) was studied with a specific probe. An antipeptide se
rum was prepared using a synthetic peptide 385EFENDVEFTER395 (ER) corr
esponding to the main part of this important region of the liver enzym
e. The antibodies were purified by affinity chromatography and analyze
d by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Their use in immunoblotting ex
periments allowed the easy detection of the complete TATase molecule.
The very high homology in rat and the human enzyme having the same PES
T region, make these antibodies of interest for further studies of the
human TATase.
