Abstract
Grating gain must be accounted for when designing single-frequency fib er lasers which utilize intracore, erbium-doped, Bragg reflectors for cavity feedback, and mode selectivity. We will present a closed form s olution, derived through coupled mode theory, for the spectral reflect ivity of an intracore Bragg phase grating in an amplifying fiber, and apply it to the design of single-mode fiber lasers. Both analytical an d experimental results will be presented.
