Abstract
The adsorption of ions on single crystal electrodes is followed via in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The results for the ads orption of phosphate species on Pt(111) indicate a strong influence of the substrate structure on the adsorption geometry. A change in the n ature of the adsorbed species is observed as the potential is shifted in the anodic direction.
