Abstract
Explicit expressions are presented for calculating specific activities induced in food by electron and photon irradiation. In addition, sets of calculated values are tabulated for neutron fluxes produced from m oderation and thermalisation of photoneutrons generated within the foo d. Evaluations of the prescriptions presented are compared with existi ng experimental measurements of activities induced by electron and pho ton irradiation under artificial conditions to induce measurable activ ities. Good agreement is obtained.
