Abstract
According to the operational experiences and economic effects having b een obtained from those irradiation facilities with cobalt - 60 source s which have been built in China, the direction of designing for an ir radiation facility, to be built in coming days, in industrial scale is obviously set on the basis of practical situation of China. The paper for it gives the design principles and takes the irradiation facility , built in Municipality Chanshu, Province Jiangsu in the east of China , for the example to describe how to practise the design principls. Th e design practice has been proved successful since the facility starte d to run in April, 1989, and been given prize and medal by the nationa l authorities concerned of China.
