Effects of irradiation with cobalt-60 gamma-rays on sterilization, sto
rage and enzymes activity of four kinds of biological enzymatic prepar
ations. namely trypsin, pepsin, amylase and liquid carbohydrase. were
investigated. The results showed that these enzymes have different sens
itivity to irradiation. amylase being the most sensitive. The enzyme a
ctivity and enzyme effect of amylase were lowered with irradiation dos
e higher than 7 KGY. With irradiation doses between 7-10 KGY, enzyme a
ctivity of trypsin and pepsin were stable. Liquid carbohydrase can be
stored more than half a year under a natural temperature with a stable
enzyme activity without molding.
