Heinrich Wackenroder was one of the first important teachers of pharma
cy. In 1828 he was appointed professor of pharmacy and chemistry at Je
na. He was a good director of a pivate institute. The scientific progr
amme is represented by 18 books and 412 papers. The main topics were i
nvestigations of analytic substances and drugs of plants and animals.
Wackenroder had 299 students, five are becoming professor. The researc
h conditions in the institute were good and Wackenroder and his studen
ts had public and social recognition.
