Negative influence of 0.015 mM cisplatin in vitro on the function of m
itochondria respiratory chain in the rat liver was found. The preparat
ion increased the rate of oxygen consumption by mitochondria in state
4, decreased the same parameter in state 3, reducing the respiratory c
ontrol index and ADP/O ratio. The effect was more expressed in the pre
sence of succinate than in case of glutamate oxidation. Combined admin
istration of 2,4-dinitrophenol and cisplatin activized mitochondria re
spiration to a less extent than without cisplatin.
