Abstract
Larval toxocariasis and ankylostomiasis are parasitic zoonosis transmi tted to human by dogs and cats. Human infection are frequent in tropic al areas, A survey was made on the presence of Toxocara canis and Anky lostoma spp. in soil extracts from Noumea, Nouvelle-Caledonie. Fifty p er cent of the samples and 11 tested areas from 12 showed T. canis egg s. The soil of an enclosed playground contained T. canis and T. cati e ggs. Infectious larvae of Ankylostoma ceylanicum were found in the gra ss of two picnic areas.
