The dithizonate primary & secondary compounds [1,2] recently synthesiz
ed [3,4,5] and crystallized [6] and Ti (IV) Cp2 Ti (HDz)2 have been re
ported. Dithizonate (1.65g) & triethylamide (0.42g) were added to a so
lution of a titanocene dichloride (0.51g) in tetrahydrofuran (80 ml).
The mixture was stirred for 40 hours at room temperature. The precipit
ated triethylamine hydrochloride was removed. The filteration and comp
lex was crystallized from n-hexane-tetrahydrofuran mixture (colour, gr
eenish black; dec. temp., 116-degrees-C; yield 75%), Dicyclopentadieny
l BIS (Dithizonate) Titanium (IV) [CP2 Ti (HDz)2] Crystals have been r
eported. H-1 NMR study for secondary compound yield no fruit, however,
spectra (singlet, doublet, multiplet) for primary dithizonate were re
corded. As electronic spectra a signal band 418 nm appears due to char
ge ransfer. Infrared spectra of ligends in solid state show v-peaks an
d absorption bands having wide range s,w,m,mb, shw, sh etc. The tentat
ive structures have also been assigned.
