IR spectral studies of the cation-radical salts of mono- and bis-hydro
xymethyl substituted ethylenedithio-tetrathiafulvalene were performed
as a function of temperature. the information on the phase transitions
were obtained from temperature variations of the absorption band inte
nsities. The phase transition in the salt (D1)2ClO4 was found. The sta
bilizing role of the hydrogen bonds in the salts D2-ClO4 and D2-PF6 wa
s observed. It was also stated that a subtle chemical modification of
the donor framework distinctly changes the structure and physical prop
erties of the salts. IR and Raman spectra of the donors have been desc
ribed.
