The static scattering properties of cyclic diblock copolymers in solut
ion are studied. The case of a symmetric diblock in a solvent satisfyi
ng the optical theta condition is considered in details. The results s
how substantial differences with respect to linear diblock copolymers.
The additional entropic interaction in cyclic chains induces a decrea
se of the scattering intensity and a shift of the location of its maxi
mum to a higher q value. This results in a substantial compatibility e
nhancement as compared to linear copolymers.
