T. Ambrose et al., MAGNETIC-PROPERTIES OF METASTABLE FCC FE-CU ALLOYS PREPARED BY HIGH-ENERGY BALL-MILLING, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 124(1-2), 1993, pp. 15-19
Metastable Fe-Cu alloys have been produced using a high energy ball mi
ll. We have studied the magnetic properties of both mechanically alloy
ed Fe-Cu and the nanocomposite phase produced at intermediate ball mil
ling times. The mechanically alloyed solid solutions have magnetic pro
perties similar to those of Fe-Cu films prepared by vapor-quenching. U
pon annealing at high temperatures, the metastable Fe-Cu alloys recrys
tallize and phase separate into Fe and Cu.
