CONTINUOUS MEASUREMENT OF TEMPERATURE ON A WIRE ROD CONVEYOR

Unimetal has studied, developed and achieved a new temperature measure ment system based on an infrared thermography scanner to replace optic al pyrometers. This system, in association with infrared imaging softw are, is able to give a complete infrared map. After computer analysis, all the temperature/time and temperature/distance curves can be visua lized. These results are necessary to the metallurgist and rolling mil l operator to improve product quality. The reliability of this system have been tested during the fourth quarter of 1992.
